NT Penta:
The first five books (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Acts) in the Christian
New Testament.
Can such anti-Jewish language be the "breathed word of G-d", as many Christians believe the New Testament is, or the "inspired word of G-d", as many other Christians believe? Can the New Testament, which has led to the persecution and murder of millions of Jews throughout the Common Era, truly be the breathed word of G-d, or be inspired by Him? Am I ready to embrace this New Testament, which spouts hatred and lies against the Jewish people, and accept it as part of my Bible?
But when he
saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto
them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to
come? O generation
of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the
abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 15:3-9
Condemnation of the Pharisees for rejecting the commandments But he
answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God
by your tradition? For God
commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father
or mother, let him die the death. But ye say, Whosoever
shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou
mightest be profited by me; 他就可以不孝敬父母。 And honour
not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the
commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 『这百姓用嘴唇尊敬我、心却远离我. This people
draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but
their heart is far from me. But in vain
they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 15:12-14
The Pharisees are called blind guides leading the blind
his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were
offended, after they heard this saying? But he
answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted,
shall be rooted up. Let them
alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind,
both shall fall into the ditch. 16:6
Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees Then Jesus
said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of
the Sadducees. 19:3-9
The Pharisees are said to be hard-hearted The
Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful
for a man to put away his wife for every cause? And he
answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the
beginning made them male and female, And said, For
this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife:
and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore
they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined
together, let not man put asunder. They say
unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to
put her away? He saith
unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put
away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. And I say
unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication,
and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is
put away doth commit adultery. 19:28 The
disciples of Jesus will judge the twelve tribes of And Jesus
said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the
regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye
also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of 22: But Jesus
perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites? 23:13-36
The scribes and Pharisees are repeatedly vilified as hypocrites
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven
against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are
entering to go in.
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for
a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater
damnation. Woe unto
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make
one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of
hell than yourselves. Woe unto
you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is
nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
Ye fools and
blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the
gold? And,
Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by
the gift that is upon it, he is guilty. Ye fools and
blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the
gift? Whoso
therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things
thereon. And whoso
shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein. And he that
shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth
thereon. Woe unto
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise
and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment,
mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other
undone. Ye blind
guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. Woe unto
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the
cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Thou blind
Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the
outside of them may be clean also. Woe unto
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres,
which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's
bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye
also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy
and iniquity. Woe unto
you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the
prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, And say, If we
had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with
them in the blood of the prophets. Wherefore ye
be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed
the prophets. Fill ye up
then the measure of your fathers. Ye serpents,
ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? Wherefore,
behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them
ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your
synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: That upon you
may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of
righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew
between the temple and the altar. Verily I say
unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. 23:38 The
Behold, your
house is left unto you desolate. 26:59-68
The chief priests and council condemn Jesus as deserving death Now the
chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against
Jesus, to put him to death; But found
none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last
came two false witnesses, And said,
This fellow said, I am able to destroy the And the high
priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which
these witness against thee? But Jesus
held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee
by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of
God. Jesus saith
unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see
the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds
of heaven. Then the
high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further
need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy. What think
ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death. Then did
they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms
Saying,
Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee? 27:1-26
The people demand that Jesus, not Barabbas, be crucified When the
morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel
against Jesus to put him to death: And when
they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate
the governor. Then Judas,
which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself,
and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and
Saying, I
have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What
is that to us? see thou to that. And he cast down
the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged
himself. And the
chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put
them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. And they
took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in. Wherefore
that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day. Then was
fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took
the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of
the children of 买了窑户的一块田. And gave
them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me. And Jesus
stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the
King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest. And when he
was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. Then said
Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? And he
answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly. Now at that
feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they
would. And they had
then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas. Therefore
when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I
release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ? For he knew
that for envy they had delivered him. When he was
set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou
nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in
a dream because of him. But the
chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask
Barabbas, and destroy Jesus. The governor
answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto
you? They said, Barabbas. Pilate saith
unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all
say unto him, Let him be crucified. And the governor
said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let
him be crucified. When Pilate
saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took
water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of
the blood of this just person: see ye to it. Then
answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children. 27:62-66
The chief priests and Pharisees request a guard at Jesus' tomb Now the next
day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and
Pharisees came together unto Pilate, Saying, Sir,
we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days
I will rise again. Command
therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his
disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is
risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first. Pilate said
unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can. 28:4 The
guards tremble and become like dead when the angel appears And for fear
of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. 28:11-15 The
chief priest bribe the guards to lie about their actions Now when
they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed
unto the chief priests all the things that were done. And when
they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large
money unto the soldiers, Saying, Say
ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept. And if this
come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you. So they took
the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported
among the Jews until this day. Gospel of Mark 3:6 The Pharisees are said to have begun to
plan to destroy Jesus And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the
Herodians against him, how they might destroy him. 7:6-13 Condemnation of the Pharisees for
He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you
hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but
their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the
commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men,
as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God,
that ye may keep your own tradition. For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth
father or mother, let him die the death: 你们倒说、人若对父母说、我所当奉给你的、已经作了各耳板(各耳板、就是供献的意思) But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban,
that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he
shall be free. And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother; Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which
ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. 8:15 Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the
Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod. 10:2-5 The Pharisees are said to be hard-hearted |
